His attack damage is mediocre, buttressed primarily by bleed damage which isnt always helpful. You're intentionally placing a hero in a position where he/she could die from the next hit, might as well make him super resistant to it so that he/she won't always die from the first deathblow check. Flagellant actually isnt that great at it. Sure, there's the +15% HP boost from the Martyr's Seal, but most other trinkets are far more beneficial for heroes that at least have some health left. A trinket that provides much more benefit to a hero that's not on death's door. Mainly because the Martyr's Seal is taking up a trinket slot that could've been used for a Sun Ring for instance. You are meant to have deaths, not to become immune to death. That means there is 59,9% chance to survive 10 attacks on deaths door. ![]() Like how virtue state is now capped at 95% No that should be horrible. Honestly, the deathblow resist should be capped at 95% instead of 87%. Unfortunately, he made it halfway through the dungeon before the deathblow was struck. I brought that same Flagellant into a champion level Weald solo too, just because I was curious. Darkest Dungeon has always been about calculating risks and managing them. Once you risked your Flagellant or any heroes to Deaths Door, expect them to die everytime you get hit or you will have to pay the price for leaving them for too long.
